A Life Beyond the Ordinary
If you know me personally, then you already know me as the one you go to with your problems. I am The Good Listener. The Practical Advice Giver.
I can’t say for sure how I ended up with these titles, but they’ve been stamped across my forehead since I was a child.
As a certified life coach, I use these talents to help twenty-somethings get clear on what they want, why they want it, and how to achieve it — so they can live happy, successful, and meaningful lives.
Trying to navigate the tumultuous seas of your twenties can be overwhelming. There are so many choices. How do you know which direction is right for you? You want to live a life above and beyond the ordinary. You want to be happier and more successful than you’ve ever imagined, while having a positive impact on the world.
But deep down, you worry this might be unattainable.
I hear you, loud and clear. I know these feelings all too well, and I’ve got news for you — the life you dream of is possible!
If we work together, we’ll engage in deep meaningful conversations guided by insightful questions. Mostly, I listen. Because what you want is the only thing that really matters here.
When I was a teenager I had huge dreams. I literally thought I could do anything I wanted. But, as I neared high school graduation I started to receive a lot of advice from the grownups in my life. Teachers, parents, school counsellors…they all seemed to be saying the same thing.
They said it was time to pick a serious and realistic path.
I took this to mean it was time to start thinking “inside the box,” which seemed fair enough. But, boy was that box small! I assumed I was to simply pick off the proverbial list of
generally recognized jobs. But I didn’t like any of them.
Plus, I was born with a neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which means I am in a wheelchair because I am not strong enough to stand or walk. So I also started thinking of my options as being limited to what I could do physically.
It took me many years to figure out why this path wasn’t leading me anywhere.
I eventually realized that my lofty teenage notions weren’t too far off the mark after all.
My greatest success and happiness came when I finally decided to listen to my intuition.
I started to get to know who I was, what I valued, and what I was good at. This set me on the path toward living my passion as a coach.
And guess what? I love what I do!
I have been an unofficial coach my entire life. Friends and family have always sought out my practical advice and my listening ear. So I made it my life’s work. After receiving my bachelors degree in psychology, I became a professional certified coach through Erickson College. I also received intensive business training in Marie Forleo’s B-School.
